About mOOaRT
  • Why are you called mooart?
    No particular reason.
  • Do you sell pictures of cows?
Sadly no, although its possible in the near future!
If you came here looking for pictures of cows we can highly reccomend another local artist Sue Moffit of the [FiFieFoFum Gallery]. She does excellent cow pictures!
  • Do you have a shop I can visit?
In order to keep costs low we do not currently have a shop or studio you can visit. If you would like to see any of our products in person or visit the artist then we look forward to seeing you at one of our regular craft fairs around the North East. For craft stall dates and venues please [click here]
  • I make art, photos or handmade cards. Would you be willing to sell my stuff for me?
    Good for you!
Unfortunately we are stretched enough just making and selling our own range of products and cannot take on anyone else's at this time.
Can I take a moment to reccomend the extra-friendly [UK Crafts Forum] which is full of great crafting members with lots of helpful advice about making and selling your own crafts.
About Our Stuff
  • Who does all the art?
Susan Windeatt - thats me - I do everything, all the art, the photography, make the cards, print the prints, paint the paintings, package everything and send it out to you! Oh and I also made the website. It keeps me busy.
  • Really, you mean you do everything?
Yep everything. I do everything that's why you are guaranteed that if you buy something from mOOaRT it will be unique, handcrafted and original.
Sometimes some lovely people help me to sell my stuff so if you met someone else at a craft stall or spoke to someone that wasn't me it will have been one of them. Weren't they lovely? Thanks folks!
  • Why don't you use straight lines when you are drawing?
Well, honestly, I think it makes the art more interesting as well as allowing me to be more free to use my artistic license.
And no - it's not because I am drunk - thanks for asking.
  • I have bought a lovely mounted print from you. Can you advise me on framing it?
All mounted prints are sold in standard frame sizes which means you shouldn't have any problem finding a frame to suit your location.
Obviously framing is a totally personal choice. I usually frame the black and white prints in either black or silver as I believe that suits the pictures better. However a pale wood or gold often goes with people's home decor at the moment (cream, beige, laminated woods).
If you are local to Newcastle Upon Tyne we can reccomend the [Factory Framing Centre] in Byker for great frames and lovely people.
  • I've seen something on one of your craft stalls but I can't find it on the website. Is it still for sale?
Since many of my products are unique one-offs I do not always get time to list them on the website. If you have seen something particular that you might like to buy please [get in touch] as it may still be available.
About North East England
  • Where is Amen Corner?
Amen Corner is in Newcastle Upon Tyne (although there are others) beside St Nicolas Cathedral. [Click Here for Amen Corner on Google Maps]
I'm told it was also once a band.
  • Where and more importantly what is the Vampire Rabbit?
The Vampire Rabbit is is a clawed fanged creature located above a doorway on Cathedral Buildings near to Amen Corner.
    Noone has any idea why.
  • Why don't you sell pictures of Sunderland and the The Stadium Of Light?
Most of the craft stalls I attend are in or around Newcastle. I don't want to get lynched!
Commissions
  • Can I commission a picture from the artist?
Yes, if you have something in mind please [get in touch].
  • I would really like to buy a picture of x but I can only afford a print not the original can you help?
Possibly, if it is something like a local view or a popular building that I think I can sell more than one print from then I would consider creating a picture of it. If you think this is the case please [get in touch] to suggest it.
Unfortunately since every picture I do contains a lot of detail and my work takes a long time even if I add your request to the requests list then prints may not be available any time soon.
  • Can I request a particular geordie pub?
Yes, there's a webpage that allows you to do just that:
    [Pub Requests Page]
    (or send an email)
  • Will you draw a picture of my husband/life-partner/granny/baby/ex-girlfriend/dog?
Sadly I do not draw people, a look around this site at my work should give you the clue that I am more of an architecture-y/landscape-y type of artist...
If you are looking for a portrait artist I would highly reccomend [Keith Talbot] who also has a stall at Tynemouth Market alternate Sundays.
Website
  • Can you add a link to my website from your site?
If you feel that your website is related to mOOaRT offering something complementry to this website that mOOaRT visitors might be interested in then send the details!
  • Can I link to your website?
Yes, feel free to link to me!
As long you are not running some kind of dodgy site that mOOaRT customers would be horrified by..
  • Can I use your images on my site?
If you are interested in using any of my images please get in touch first. Unless it is for very nice charity/educational purposes then I will probably have to say no or charge an illustration fee. Please do not use my images without permission. All the artwork on this site is my own and it took an immense amount of time and effort to create. I make my living this way so by using my images without paying then you effectively stealing my salary.
You are of course very welcome to link to pages on my website from your site if you like any of the artwork! I'd be very happy about that! :)
